1. Who we are

Gain Discovery (gaindiscovery.com) is an AI-powered financial analysis tool operated by Dmytro Iashchenko as an individual. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at hello@gaindiscovery.com.

2. What data we collect

We collect only what's necessary to provide the service:

• Account data — name and email address when you sign in via Google or magic link.
• Expense data you upload — files or text you submit for analysis. This data is sent to an AI provider (Anthropic or OpenAI) to generate your report and is not stored permanently on our servers beyond the current session unless you are signed in.
• Usage data — pages visited, actions taken, analysis results. Collected via PostHog for product improvement.
• Error data — technical errors and exceptions, collected via Sentry to fix bugs.
• Payment data — handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store card numbers or payment details.

3. How we use your data

• To provide and improve the analysis service
• To manage your account and credits
• To send transactional emails (magic link sign-in, receipts)
• To monitor performance and fix errors

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Anthropic / OpenAI — AI analysis. Your expense data is sent to their APIs for processing.
• Stripe — Payment processing.
• PostHog — Analytics and session recording.
• Sentry — Error monitoring.
• Resend — Transactional email delivery.
• Google — OAuth sign-in (if you choose Google login).

5. Data retention

Analysis reports are stored in our database linked to your account so you can access them later. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us. Anonymous (non-signed-in) analysis data is not stored after the session ends.

6. Cookies

We use session cookies for authentication and analytics cookies via PostHog. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Email us at hello@gaindiscovery.com and we will respond within 30 days.

8. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use industry-standard practices to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure — use the service at your own discretion and avoid uploading highly sensitive personal or financial documents.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
